apo-blackops:

Authorized Personnel Only was a deep cover, black-operations division of the Central Intelligence Agency. APO held no accountability; agents tasked with highly secretive, covert missions.

APO Headquarters was underneath the Los Angeles subway system. The initial Director of APO was a man named Arvin Sloane; someone who had previously run a fake black-ops unit by the name of SD-6 (within the Alliance of 12). A former member of the CIA’s most wanted list himself.

The name of the organization refers to the sign on the entrance door from the LA subway.

The CIA felt that the increased amount of “red tape” surrounding recent investigations prohibited them from effectively doing their job; resulting in the move to recruit Arvin Sloane to set up a black-ops unit, liable to US laws but not hampered by bureaucratic chain of command.

Sloane countered criticism to his position in the unit by explaining that the CIA basically wanted their own SD-6. Ironic as SD-6 was essentially a terrorist agency under the guise of CIA black-ops, even to its’ employees. APO would be a unit that didn’t officially ‘exist’. Teams comprised of members with no apparent affiliation with the CIA

In May of 2006, 18 months after APO officially opened, the former Director; Arvin Sloane (through Julian Sark), detonated a bomb in the subway tunnels leading to the APO HQ. Subsequently the building was almost completely destroyed. Agent Thomas Grace gave his life in the line of duty, ensuring that no other lives were lost that day.

As APO is a black-ops division, a task force was sent to ensure nothing could be retrieved from the wreckage of HQ. APO Headquarters reopened in November of 2010. It is now located beneath the Staten Island Railway line, New York City.

This is an Alias-based RP, using some of the show’s mythology and infrastructure. Agents and other workers lead double lives as their civilian counterparts and loved ones are left in the dark. No knowledge of the TV show Alias is needed. We will focus on a small band of people whose lives are affected by the division.
